Don't frown on the brown

We all needed to unwind after work so we went to the Star Bar just across the street. What use to be the former cheesy Tiki Room is quickly becoming our new favorite hangout. It's a cool space that's doesn't get too crowded. The back corner has couches and tables that can fit our large group. Surprisingly the food is really good. A fun time was had by all except that LeeAnn & Cara, our resident veggies, ordered a cheese quesadilla and LeeAnn found a piece of chicken in it. She managed to use her Jedi mind trick to pursuade the waitress to give us a new order.

Today was the 1st day that it felt like winter. Brrrr. Everyone was talking about their frustrating search for the perfect winter coat. I need a new coat. After the Star Bar we walked down to the new Esprit store. I wanted to get some opinions on a navy blue mid length coat that I liked there. It looked great but there was a chocolate brown knee length coat that Jenny saw. It felt and looked better. Usually the only colors I wear are black and black. So wearing brown is a major change for me. Brown? Do it! I almost exchanged it for a dark grey version at the register but I stayed with different. The clincher was a 20% off sale. I was still in a shopping mood, and I needed to replace my worn out black 8 eyed Doc Martens boots. I saw a nice pair of rich, soft leather, bark brown Dr. Martens 1460 Series Flex Link boots and bought them on the spot. After one wearing they're already broken in and they feel great. Brown is the new brown.
