Celebrate! But not near my head. please

Sim woke me up to celebrate the New Year. Met with Jenny and her visiting boyfriend Mike. Machu and his new friend Jennifer, Celvyn & Kuo. Sim & Dave surprised me by offering me a traditional red envelope "laysee" filled with 5 big bills of good luck money. So unexpected and great. Chinatown was beautiful, festive and dangerous. Confetti canons exploding all around us. Small kids with absolutely no training in the safe use of compression tubes aiming the business end at my head. Finding a restaurant without a long line was difficult. We ended up going to our old dim sum standby, Golden Unicorn. Table for 9? 45 minutes, you are ticket no. 52. For the next 45 minutes, numbers were called out in no logical order 133, 145, 7, 2, 42, 51, 53. The lobby was crowded and I was starving and delirious. Once we sat down, we immediately grabbed 6 orders of shrimp dumpling from the traveling carts. Ordered seafood pan fried noodles and shrimp w/ walnut mayo sauce. So bad for you but so tasty. It was delicious and we were stuffed, although I still had room for a sweet Mexican bun. But despite Dave's kitchen inquiry, they were all out.
It was raining and the colorful streamer covered streets were turning into mush. Colors bled like pools of blood. Kinda disgusting. My brand new Addidas Campus kicks were getting stained purple. Bah!
We went to my place to hang out a little. Matthew and Jennifer struggled with Sudoku.
But I had to attend the 1st Tenant's Rights meeting in the laundry room. It was jammed. Full of nervous people. It seems that when my lease is up in August, it'll get jacked up. To be expected. But the building is in the process of being sold and most likely be converted into condos. But we don't know when. It could be in 2 months or 2 years. But I'm ready to buy. Whether it's buying this place or somewhere else. We'll see. Real estate is complicated and interesting. Lots to learn.
Lisa Loeb has her new cable show and she looks so very cute.
