I was watching KIDS and RAISING VICTOR VARGAS over the summer. Both movies dealt with tough adolescence and growing up fast in NYC. Whereas VICTOR is sweet and honest, KIDS is brutally sad. But watching it now through today's eyes, it's sadly less disturbing. I did a search for the screenwriter Harmony Korine's other movies and saw the poster for his movie GUMMO. It oddly reminded me of a snapshot I took of Pam.
