I paid $5

Friday after work, Karen and her roommate Eva were thinking of going to the Whitney to see the Biennial. It's pay as you wish Friday. I've never gone to see the Biennial. If I don't go now, I'll probably never go. I'm always a bit nervous meeting new people but Eva and I hit it off the bat. We trained up to the museum and there was a long line formed around the corner. We didn't get in till 7:30. The museum was crowded. Since we only had an hour, we bypassed the video installations. There were four floors of exhibits. For some reason, I was expecting edgier work and maybe rougher thinking but I was surprised that I liked a lot of what I saw. Great drawings and very inspiring pieces. Just as we were seeing the last of the exhibits, I bumped into someone I dated a couple of months ago. She was with an older gentleman that she was hugging. It was slightly awkward but fine. Said hi, introduced myself to whatever his name and told them to hurry before the museum closed. We were tired and hungry and on our way out. Sim called and asked if we wanted to meet them for Mexican. I was outside trying to reach Sim for directions when Eva warned me to turn away. My friend was leaving and I noticed that the guy she was with was wearing his sweater around his shoulder. Ha! It was drizzling but we managed to hail a cab to the restaurant on the West Side. We waited for a while to be seated. So tired, so hungry. Met Dave's friend John who looked a lot like Matt Damon. His brother Bob is an Occupational Therapist & so is Eva, so they had a good time talking. We ordered margaritas and Chilean sea bass. Had a great time. Much hearty laughter was had by all.
