{ demolition of the 4th floor art department }

Henry Holt is moving in and to make room, the building is getting an extreme makeover. Major construction work is being done on every floor of the Flatiron. Our art department occupies the point of the flatiron on the 4th floor and we have temporarily relocated to the 20th floor for 6 weeks. I went down to check on the progress and it is totally demolished, gutted, dusty, wires hanging from exposed ceilings with original peeling paint from 1904. It sucks working out of boxes in temporary office spaces that are the size of closets, but the views on 20 are spectacular.
