Ticker Tape Parade in Chinatown

A whole bunch of us went down to Chinatown during lunch to help me celebrate Chinese new year. It's so easy to get there. Hop on the R train to Canal. Lickety split.
There was confetti everywhere. Thickly covering the streets and the air. Mott Street was jammed. We caught several dancing dragons, which are actually lions.

Since Giuliani banned the use of fireworks in the city, we've had to bring in the new year with those little snap poppers. Little bags of gunpowder that make a tiny explosion upon impact to the floor or someones head. Not much bang. But this year there were tubes shooting confetti & streamers four freaking stories into the air. They're propelled by tightly coiled springs, sort of like a can of snakes. This will really shoot your eye out. In theory. Must test this out.

We ate at the Big Wong. The restaurant was crowded and the wait was long. But as soon as we sat down, our order was taken, the food arrived, we ate, we left.
OK, Thank You, Bye Bye.
Saw Pater there without the Celwyn. She said to say hi to Sim. Yeah right.
