Let us now celebrate Kathy Appreciation Day
It's been a stressful week. Catalog deadline is Friday and everyone is working hard and late getting their covers done. We wanted a cake party. For no other reason than to have a party to cheer us up. Plus our new office manager Kathy has been doing such a great job managing the department and keeping us in order that we wanted to make it a Kathy Appreciation Day party. We usually have our parties catered by L.A. Cafe. Not because it's any good but because we have a corporate account there. So free food that's deliverable sometimes wins out over good tasting interesting food. Especially when no one has time to get the cake themselves. But of course, us being so busy, we made Kathy order her own cake. She chose a Bailey's Cream flavored cake. It was delivered by 4:00. It looked delicious but we soon realized that it had a funny taste. Then Olga saw that there was mold on the inner layers. UGH! We called L.A. Cafe immediately and demanded justice. They apologized and offered to replace the cake. Kathy chose chocolate birthday cake over carrot cake. Carrots, nuts. Possibility for spoilage there right? And Come on. You can't go wrong with good ol' everyday chocolatey birthday cake right? It was delivered within 10 minutes. It looked dark and luscious and decorated with colorful flowers. We were all still craving the taste of sweets postponed. Till we tried to slice it. The outer shell was hard. The colorful flowers were stiff and spotted white. And it tasted rancid. UUUUGGGGGGHHHHHH! This is horrible. We redialed their ass pronto and we demanded...well, at this point, we wanted nothing from them now. This place is Garbage! I felt bad for Kathy. Her own party a big glorious bust. Oh well. Shoulda gone to Billy's Bakery for cupcakes. We'll try again tomorrow. Third times the charm, but from somewhere else. And why is a cafe in NYC named after L.A.? This cafe is the biggest phony.

As I'm reading this I'm eating a Buttercup cupcake. Damn, this is one tasty cake.

Good for you. I hope it has a crunchy egg center with blue cheese icing.
