{ MetroStars score a goal }
Saw my first pro soccer game at the Meadowlands. MetroStars vs. DC United. We went to see the NY area debut of 14 year old phenomenom, Freddy ADU. He's the youngest to play since Pele and is considered to be the second coming of Pele. His playing is so smart and so quick for someone so young. We saw him score his 1st pro goal. Awesome. It's so amazing to see someone at the very beginning of their career. Next stop for him, Europe, Manchester United.
It was such a beautiful day to be out. T-shirt and shorts weather. We waited on line for 15 minutes for a Carvel ice cream cups. But someone ordered 30 cups at once and all they had left was lemon ice. Bah!
Getting around Port Authority doesn't make sense, it stinks and it's nasty. I can't believe Shea has to commutes this everyday.
When we got back to the city, we went shopping for sneakers but nothings clicking yet. I can't find the right PUMAs. We went to Skybar for drinks. It's this ghetto bar atop of the Quintana hotel rooftop on 32nd St. / Koreatown. It's usually dead. The decor reminds me of someones backyard with whitewashed fencing and cushioned side benches, but the coolest thing of the place is the awesome view of the Empire State Building. It looms over you from a block away. Bob Marley is always playing and the bartender lets us have a pepperoni pizza pie delivered. Nice hidden gem.
