I don't have cable so I never get to see Music videos. I recently bought the 3 DVD set, Director's Series - The Works of Spike Jonze, Chris Cunningham, and Michel Gondry. The only disc I've watched so far is Michel Gondry. His videos for Cibo Matto, White Stripes, Chemical Brothers & Kylie Minogue are so inventive. I was showing them to Jenny and told her that Michel is also the director of the new Jim Carrey movie, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. She hasn't seen it yet and neither have I. There's a 6:40 show in Chelsea. Let's go!

i bought this set for the chris cunningham dvd and then discovered michel gondry. the only reason i went to see sunshine was because gondry directed it in the end . . .

I liked it alot. I think it's a great depiction of a real relationship. But the storytelling form is complicated. Not as much as Adaptation. But I liked it, with slight reservations. The acting is really good. Mark Ruffalo is great. Jim Carrey didn't grate and Kate Winslet was beautiful.

I was also surprised at how much I liked Jim Carrey, and I liked Mark Ruffalo alot. I haven't seen too much of him on film, although I did see an off Broadway play where he played a book jacket designer and Illeana Douglas played a literary agent. Kieran Culkin played his son. I didn't like Adaptation either. I really liked Nick Cage in it. His opening voiceover hooked me.
