Double Crown Winner

Went to the 136th Belmont Stakes to see Smarty Jones make history by winning the Triple Crown. At least that's how we all thought the day was going to unfold. It was a heart-stopping race. Smarty lost it in the final stretch right before the finish line. People were crazy upset and crying when Smarty failed to cross first. What a disappointment. It would’ve been so exciting to witness a Triple Crown victory. It’s been so close that past couple of years but I guess I’m kind of glad that the Triple Crown is so elusive. It keeps it special. That and the fact that I placed a $10 bet on the long shot horse Birdstone to win. Ka-CHING! Good Horsey.
