Although I've been an eBay member since 2000, today was the first time I ever put a bid on anything. I placed bids on a Polaroid SLR 680 and I won. This camera came out in '82 and is now discontinued. I first became interested in it because of a photographer I know, Mike Slack. He creates these great images with this simple camera and has a book of his Polaroids, OK OK OK. I finally got to see it up close recently when Emily came up with a cover design that used 2 old style Polaroid portraits on the cover. We rented the camera from Adorama and I shot Simone's brother and his son for the photo shoot. It was fun shooting with this lo tech, camera with its immediate, one and only original print. But I fell in love with how it was constructed. Built in primitive flash, manual & sonar auto focus. It has fabric side bellows and when closed, folds flat into a rectangle. Such a cool looking transformer design.
eBay is so addictive. I searched for other Polaroid items and bought this t-shirt with the camera graphics on it along with a Stanley Kubrick Tee. Both designed by boogalook. This eBay can be dangerous.
