OPG, yeah you know me.

This morning I found out that I won my eBay bid on an SX-70 Polaroid camera and leather case. Beautiful silver metal body with brown leather trim. It reminds me of 60s James Bond cool and all the beautiful camera equipment my Dad had. nice.
It was such a gorgeous day. I met up with Karen at the 6th Avenue flea markets. She was excited that she found an appliance beige and brown SX-70 for herself. I lent her the extra $20 she needed and she is now another proud owner of an archaic imaging device. Got my hands all dirty leafing through some old records. Bought some Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan and Sergio Mendes & Brasil '66. I love the sound of female singing voices. I saw some other nice finds but I didn't want to buy too much of OPG. Other People's Garbage. But one man's garbage is another man's treasure.
Had a very late lunch at Blue Water Grill. Oysters, yum.

Thanks John. I have a funny photo of Margo that I'll post soon. The Instant 600 film has a nice painterly quality. You should get one. Digital is super convenient but I missed the quality of film. The Polaroid allows me to have simple control over depth of field and focus. and they make one of a kind prints. I do have one of those Daylab printers. I love making Polaroid transfers. I should shoot some slides and make some. You see photographer in SOHO making transfer portraits on the spot. cool image making.
