Dining downtown in the wild west vilage

Met Em for lunch in the West Village by her job at Penguin. That neighborhood is so nice. Beautiful houses and quiet streets. We ate at Chick Inn. The place was great and we had a great time but the couple next to us were lamenting how lacking their college education was. SHADDUP! Next door was a Candy Shop which was quaint but the woman in the shoppe was GGR-Rumpy. Fun place though. Old fashion candy everywhere. I remembered that Rachel recommended a place down the block that she said had the best cupcakes. Hard to believe. I bought 9 to share with the peeps back at the office. I thought Magnolia's had the best cupcakes until I tried Billy's. No lines or attitude and they make the best coconut custard pie. But now that I've tasted the cupcakes at Out of the Kitchen. These are without question the tastiest of them all. Instead of the super sugary sweet buttercream frosting with the so-so cake, their frosting drips with cream cheese, carrot cake icing with a really light cake. Damn, this is the best. You gotta try them. And look. Arranged so nicely.

After work, LeeAnn and I wanted to get dinner. We walked all around the village and SOHO but ended up at Home for some comfort food. As we were going in, I noticed right next door at the Pearl Oyster Bar, sitting in the front window was Mike Myers. Austin Powers himself filling up his mojo eating oysters. It's amazing seeing such a big personality just eating with his 2 lady friends without anyone bothering him. I fought back the urge to take his pic. I should've taken it. Ah, maybe not. Well I didn't. If I was Steve, I would've walked right up to him and asked if he ever thought about writing a book. so bold.
